What is your most memorable wedding?
When Jubilee Events began, and we were testing our kit and processes, a wonderful couple let us use their wedding day as a pilot. The day was beautiful and went without a hitch. Seeing our team working together and celebrating with such great supporters and friends was a delight. Since then, there have been many more amazing weddings, but that particular day will always have a special place in the team's memory.

What about your business are you most proud of?
Central to all we do is our fantastic team – we provide supportive jobs to people who have faced significant barriers to employment. Our team includes those who have experienced homelessness, people who have struggled with addiction and refugees. We pay everyone the Real Living Wage and provide holistic support, ensuring employees have the resources to thrive.
What is your No.1 wedding planning tip for couples?
It's your day, do it your way! If you love pizza, have pizza. If you don't like speeches, then ditch them. The most important thing is that you celebrate your union in your way. So tell us what you want; we would love to help you make it happen.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Little native tree saplings as favours. What an excellent way to give everyone a lasting memento of the day and help the planet.
Describe your typical process with a couple:
First, we like to chat with you over the phone. We want to hear about your dream day and let you ask us all the burning questions you've gathered as you search for options. We will ask you some practical questions to establish the best setup for your chosen location. Once we understand your needs, we will provide you with a quote. If you are purchasing our full wedding package, we would like to make a site visit at this point, too.
Once you've accepted the quote, Roger will be on hand to lead you through all the scheduling and details of your day. Alongside finalising all the elements we provide, he can also manage liaising with our trusted partners to supply catering, generators, toilets and much more.
Our team will arrive on-site before your wedding day to set everything up and then set it all down afterwards, leaving your venue exactly as we found it. Roger will be available as your co-ordinator throughout and, depending on the package you choose, can also be there during your wedding to keep everything running smoothly.
How do you create an ambience in a marquee?
The great thing about a marquee wedding is that the setting often does the hard work for you. A large garden or field with views of the beautiful British countryside is a lovely backdrop for a wedding. Combined with the crisp ivory-coloured lining and swags in the marquee, it gives you the perfect base to add personal touches. This year, we’ve loved the modern hexagonal arches draped with locally grown flowers and foliage. They create a focal point whilst also being sustainable. You also can't beat swathes of twinkling fairy lights at night as the sun sets; it's magical!
Where is the most exciting place that you have put a marquee?
We work with a stunning country estate in Derbyshire that is re-wilding much of the land they steward. The wildflower meadows are beautiful in the spring and early summer, and the long grasses with winding cut paths in the late summer and autumn add a lovely focal point to the gardens!
What is your favourite design of marquee and why?
Our Roder clearspan marquees, of course! Clearspan marquees use a metal framework to support the structure, doing away with interior poles and exterior guy ropes.
